Understand your cyber policy before your next broker meeting.

We turn your cyber insurance PDF into a plain-English briefing — sublimits, exclusions, the questions worth raising — so the broker conversation actually moves.

How it works

Three steps from policy upload to a broker-ready briefing.

  1. 01

    Upload your policy

Drop in your cyber insurance PDF. Files up to 25MB are supported.

  2. 02

We turn it into a briefing

We read every clause and pull out the sublimits, exclusions, and questions worth raising with your broker.

  3. 03

    Walk in prepared

Your plain-English briefing arrives by email, typically within 10 minutes. Forward it to your broker and use it to drive the conversation.

Points to confirm with your broker

Does your war exclusion include a cyber-terrorism carveback?

Example policy language (sample wording — your policy may differ)
“This policy does not apply to loss arising out of war, invasion, or warlike action by a military force…” — with no carveback for acts of cyber terrorism in the body of the form.
Why it matters
Several recent state-sponsored attacks (NotPetya being the headline example) have triggered war-exclusion denials. A carveback restoring coverage for cyber terrorism is the standard market response.
Bring this to your broker
Ask whether your policy has a cyber-terrorism carveback (in the form, an endorsement, or by amendment) and what it specifically covers and excludes.

Is ransomware at the full aggregate, or sublimited?

Example policy language (sample wording — your policy may differ)
“Cyber extortion / ransom payment” carries a separate sublimit lower than the aggregate policy limit; specific figures appear on your Declarations page rather than in the policy form itself.
Why it matters
A ransomware sublimit set well below the aggregate caps your real exposure in the most common claim scenario, regardless of your top-line policy number.

Trust & privacy

Built for sensitive documents.

Cyber insurance policies contain sensitive business information. Here is how we handle yours.

Deleted within 24 hours

Your policy file is deleted within 24 hours. Your report is retained until you request deletion or for 12 months, whichever comes first.

Encrypted at rest

Files are encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard AES-256. Stored only as long as needed to generate your report.

Never used to train AI

Your policy and analysis are processed in isolation. Your data is never combined with other customers' data, used to train models, or sold or shared for marketing.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from just asking ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is a general-purpose tool that depends on how you ask. PolicyClear is built specifically for cyber insurance policies, with a structured broker-prep briefing you don't have to know how to request.

Three differences in practice. First, every briefing follows the same proven structure — headline, points to confirm with your broker, policy snapshot, and the language to use — so nothing important gets skipped. Second, the briefing is grounded in real policy patterns and market norms (settlement hammers, war exclusions, vendor coverage definitions, sub-limit structures) that a generalist tool won't surface unless you know to ask. Third, you get a styled PDF you can forward to your broker, not a chat transcript.

The short version: ChatGPT can summarize a policy if you know exactly what to ask. PolicyClear hands you the questions worth asking.

What kinds of policies can I upload?

Right now, PolicyClear is built specifically for cyber insurance policies. Other commercial lines are coming soon.

How long does the briefing take?

Most briefings are delivered within 10 minutes of payment. In rare cases of high load or unusually long policies, delivery can take up to 30 minutes.

Will this replace my insurance broker?

No. PolicyClear gives you a clearer understanding of your policy and better questions to ask, but only a licensed broker can bind, modify, or quote new coverage. Use the briefing to prepare for your next broker conversation, not as a substitute for one.

What happens to my policy file?

Your policy file is encrypted in transit and at rest using AES-256, used only to generate your briefing, and deleted within 24 hours. The briefing itself is retained until you request deletion or for 12 months, whichever comes first. Email support@policyclear.io to request deletion at any time.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, if there's a technical issue. If your PDF couldn't be processed or your briefing didn't deliver, email us at support@policyclear.io within 30 days for a full refund. We don't offer refunds based on dissatisfaction with the briefing's content — it's an automated, plain-English summary of what's in your policy, intended to inform a broker conversation, not to replace one.

What if my PDF is password-protected?

Password-protected PDFs cannot be analyzed. Remove the password from the file (most PDF readers do this in a few clicks) and upload again. You will see a clear error message if we detect one.

Do you analyze policies for any business size?

PolicyClear is designed for small to mid-sized businesses — roughly under 500 employees and under $50M in revenue. Larger organizations typically have brokers and in-house risk teams better suited to the depth of analysis required.

Walk into your next broker meeting prepared.
